Map My Mole is an innovative service designed to connect patients with UK consultant dermatologists for rapid skin lesion analysis.
Professional Skin Lesion Assessments with Fast Results.
At MD Health, we understand that waiting for a mole or skin lesion to be checked can be stressful. That’s why we’ve partnered with Map My Mole, a dermatologist-led service that provides expert assessments within 24–48 hours. Whether you’re concerned about a mole’s appearance, looking for safe removal options, or simply want peace of mind, we offer a quick, professional, and affordable solution.
Map My Mole is an innovative service designed to connect patients with UK consultant dermatologists for rapid skin lesion analysis. Using high-resolution dermoscopic imaging, our clinic captures detailed images of your mole or lesion, which are then reviewed by a specialist dermatologist.
This allows for early detection of any concerns and helps determine if your mole is suitable for cryotherapy removal at MD Health or if further medical attention is required.
Visit MD Health at 28 Hardhorn Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7SR for an initial assessment. Using a dermoscope, we will examine the mole or lesion to capture high-quality images.
We submit the images securely to Map My Mole’s network of UK-based consultant dermatologists. These specialists will analyse your lesion and provide a professional report within 24–48 hours.
You will receive a detailed written report, confirming whether the lesion is suitable for cryotherapy removal at our clinic or if further medical evaluation is needed. If referral to your GP is advised, you will have a documented assessment to support fast-tracked care.
This service is not only for those considering cryotherapy but also for anyone with general mole or lesion concerns, providing a professional assessment for reassurance or early intervention.
The cost of the mole and lesion assessment is £99, which includes an expert review of up to three lesions. This service provides an accessible alternative for individuals who may struggle to access timely GP appointments.
The area treated is frozen by Cryotherapy. This kills the localised cells in the area which cause them to shrivel and die. The treated area may go darker over a few weeks, but will return to normal pigmented skin in about 6 weeks.
The duration of the treatment time will depend on the surface area and the thickness of the tissue being treated. Upon the clinical evaluation of the depth of the area, the clinician will choose an application time from 1 to 30 seconds.
The cost of treatment will depend on the clinic and the size of the area. Make an appointment with your clinician will discuss costs and assess your area.
Cryotherapy is a relatively low-risk procedure. It delivers a freeze directly to the area, and not the healthy surrounding tissue. The Cryotherapy device is both CE and FDA registered.
There will be a pain sensation similar to a stinging nettle on the skin when the Nitrous Oxide reaches the bottom of the area. There might be a little residual stinging for a few minutes after treatment, this is normal.
